Webb, whose Specter-esque party-hopping antics facilitated his election in typically “conservative” Virginia, never really seemed to enjoy the job, and he took few definitive positions during his lackluster tenure.

Looming large on the minds of Democrat strategists is: Who’s next? With an extremely weak “bench,” and a well-known likely Republican opponent (George Allen), Obama’s political progeny know this seat is fundamentally vulnerable.

While blowhard Brian Moran and neo-Federalist Creigh Deeds are conventional considerations for the seat, they have burned political capital on unimpressive previous campaigns and are not viable candidates.

The left’s opportunity to save the seat rests with former Virginia Governor and current Democratic National Committee Chair, Tim Kaine, if he wants it—but if he does not?

Unnamed sources deep in the bowels of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee say that former 5th District Congressman, Tom Perriello, is next in line.

Uncharacteristically cagey about his political future, Perriello—semi-affectionately know as the one-term blunder—is waiting in the wings for Kaine to abstain.

“Senator” Perriello would be an unmitigated disaster for Virginia given his support for abortion, Cap and Trade, Card Check, Obamacare and a host of other progressive (read: Socialist) agenda items. But his campaign would be well funded and he is considered a formidable challenger, should he be called to again serve his Party.

Read Jim Webb’s full retirement statement:

Statement of Senator Jim Webb

Washington, DC–Today Senator Jim Webb (D-VA) issued the following statement:

Five years ago this week, on February 8, 2006, I announced my intention to run for the United States Senate. We had neither campaign funds nor a staff. We were challenged in a primary, and trailed the incumbent in the general election by more than 30 points in the polls.

Over the next nine months we focused relentlessly on the need to reorient our national security policy, to restore economic fairness and social justice, and to bring greater accountability in our government. I will always be grateful for the spirit and energy that was brought into this campaign by thousands of loyal and committed volunteers. Their enthusiasm and sheer numbers were truly the difference in that election.

It has been a great and continuing privilege to serve in the United States Senate. I am very proud of my talented and dedicated staff, which has worked tirelessly to resolve the issues on which I based my candidacy, and to protect the interests of all Virginians in this national forum. Among other contributions we have given our Post- 9/11 veterans the best GI Bill since World War Two; we have taken the lead in reforming our criminal justice system; we have led the way toward stronger relations in East and Southeast Asia; and we have been a strong voice in calling on China to act more responsibly in the world community. We will continue to work on these and other issues throughout the rest of my term.

However, after much thought and consideration I have decided to return to the private sector, where I have spent most of my professional life, and will not seek re-election in 2012.

Notwithstanding this decision, I have every intention of remaining involved in the issues that affect the well-being and the future of our country.

At any given time, a panoply of leftists, young and old, convene there, “productively” whiling away the hours.

But, politically speaking, the evening of October 29 was superior to all previous nights on the mall. Fellow travelers Tom Perriello and Barack Obama were slated to appear at the Charlottesville Pavilion to rally the boy-congressman’s flailing re-election campaign. To the ends of the mall and beyond, comrades cued for the chance to witness progressive history.

Conservative activist group, Americans for Prosperity (AFP), seized upon this transcendent circumstance to gauge political sentiment among the assembled throng by conducting random video interviews. While attempting to distribute “Socialism Isn’t Cool” bumper stickers, AFP discovered that to many Obama-Perriello adherents, socialism was cool.

Amidst the admirers was Western Albemarle High School Spanish teacher, Dominique Anderson—a bald faced socialist. During her interview, Mrs. Anderson boldly exhorted the AFP inquirers to “convert” to socialism, vapidly proclaiming the political system (which is responsible for more than 80 million deaths) “totally good.”

When questioned as to why a socialist should be able to plunder the possessions of a capitalist, the bolshevist educator haughtily retorted, “That’s bullshit.”

Several of Dominique Anderson’s former and current students recognized their Spanish teacher in the originally released APF video footage (which was edited for profanity). None was particularly surprised at her avowed love for socialism, but all were solaced that her dreaded classroom antics now were laid bare. So relieved was one pupil, that he contributed this exclusive, telling narrative of his personal experiences inside Mrs. Anderson’s classroom:

She was my teacher in 11th grade. I could always tell she was very liberal, with that making sense now that she’s proclaimed she’s a socialist.

There would be plenty of classes where politics would sometimes come up, and if we wanted to keep from doing Spanish work, there was nothing easier than asking her about her political beliefs —we’d often get a rant that would take up some time.

I remember one class she said something about how awful the health care system in America was and just how Bush was so horrible and America needed to be more like Europe. She was really trashing a country that I am so proud to come from, and I looked at one of my friends, and we were like, is she serious? We both agreed that hey, if you don’t like it here in America, a country we would sacrifice so many things for, quit your ranting and get the hell out. Go back to Europe where everything is ’so much better’ and just leave our country alone.

When we asked her about her political beliefs, she never wanted to tell us directly what she thought, but when she talked, it was very clear she leaned far left. She seemed to like Obama very much (again, very understandable) and had nothing positive to say about anything conservative.

I wish I could say that she is an exception on the Western Albemarle teaching staff, but so many teachers there are very liberal (I believe some to be bordering on socialism), and even though they might try to not let it influence their teaching, after the first month or so you can always tell who believes what.

I honestly am disgusted by the bias and ill feelings towards conservatives in school. For no reason what so ever should public taxes be funding some of the teachers’ rants at school or their biased influences, many of which clearly go against founding American documents and principles. The sad thing is many people do not know enough to see the bias in front of them, and they come away with a twisted understanding of history, or they leave a Spanish classroom feeling insulted for being conservative, or with a taste of distain in their mouth for having to listen to a teacher during school hours rant about how awful the country is that we live in.

Not since the national exposure of Henley Middle School teacher Margie Shepherd and her anti-American, anti-Christian classroom displays has an Albemarle County government-school teacher so nakedly been revealed for her disdain of American foundational principles—and in this case, for the country, itself.

While all teachers are entitled to personal beliefs and opinions, parents of government-schooled children should be aware of potential anti-American classroom-based indoctrination. And avowed socialists—like Dominique Anderson—who cannot keep their leftist politics out of the classroom should remove themselves (or themselves be removed) from the mandated government-education system.

America, as conceived, will crumble when a majority of her citizens are predisposed to despise her. Thanks to the classroom contributions of leftist government-school instructors, we are well advanced on that path to destruction.

For the most part, young indoctrination-hostages (government-schooled students) subject to the Margie Shepherds and Dominique Andersons of America’s “public” education system cannot defend themselves from attempted anti-liberty brainwashing. It is the public’s responsibility, once notified, to recognize and counter these ongoing subliminal (and sometimes overt) assaults—the nation’s future depends on it.

The vandalism took place at Auburn Hill Farm in Albemarle County sometime between Friday evening and Sunday morning. Steve Peters, the farm’s owner, has reported the incident to the FBI as a possible safety threat to Representative-elect, Robert Hurt.

Republican Hurt defeated incumbent Perriello in the November 2, 2010 general election and will represent Virginia’s Fifth District in the 112th Congress.

The campaign of Democrat Congressman Tom Perriello owes Charlottesville city taxpayers at least $15,178.22 according to documents recently obtained by The Schilling Show Blog and News.

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request of the city reveals that the Charlottesville Police Department spent 459.5 overtime hours (at an average of $33.27/hr) in conjunction with President Barack Obama’s October 29 visit here in support of Perriello’s campaign.

Not referenced in documentation provided by the city are fire and rescue overtime costs, which previously had been cited as additional potential expense to Charlottesville taxpayers.

The $15k debt is 500% higher than the advance cost estimate provided by city spokesman Ric Barrick as reported in the October 28 Daily Progress:

Barrick said he expects the cost for the event to the city to be in the range of $3,000, principally for overtime.

The question of reimbursement appears to have been initiated not from within Charlottesville City Hall but rather through an inquiry from an NBC 29 reporter (Henry Graff):

From: Jessica Barba [mailto:jessica@perrielloforcongress.com]
Sent: Thursday, October 28, 2010 01:10 PM
To: Barrick, Ric; Ann Kingston <ann@redlightmanagement.com>
Subject: Questions about taxpayer-funded resources

Hey Ric and Ann,

I have a question from NBC29 about how much taxpayer-funded resources are being used for the President’s visit and whether or not the campaign is reimbursing. I honestly don’t know how this works so hoping you can give me some guidance and also to make sure we’re all on the same page so we can give same message to reporters.

Ric, also need to ask you if we can rent lighting equipment for our election night party at Siips. Can you touch base with my colleague Kristie on that? (cc’ed and at 703-598-2349) [sic]

Thank you!

Jessica

–

Communications Director
Perriello for Congress
cell: 434-882-4163

Acquired documents also indicate Ric Barrick’s unwillingness to request reimbursement from the Perriello campaign on behalf of Charlottesville taxpayers, deferring instead to campaign goodwill:

From: “Barrick, Ric” <BARRICK@charlottesville.org>
Date: Thu, 28 Oct 2010 14:20:42 -0400
To: <jessica@perrielloforcongress.com>
Subject: Re: Questions about taxpayer-funded resources

We will not be formally asking for reimbursement from the campaign. However, if the campagn wanted to reimburse us for normal Pavilion event costs, it may be a good pr effort and we would accept. I will call mr Graff. Thanks. [sic] [Emphasis added]

Notably, Barrick’s collusion with Perriello representative, Jessica Barba, is focused on obtaining good “pr” for the Congressman’s campaign rather than on expense recovery for Charlottesville taxpayers.

Written communications provided by the City in response to the original FOIA request did not indicate Charlottesville’s receipt of payment from the Perriello campaign, or issuance of a final invoice to the Perriello campaign, as of 5:50 PM on November 5.

During last Friday’s Obama-led campaign rally at the Charlottesville Pavilion, followers of Democrat Congressman Tom Perriello braved long queues in order to witness the President of the United States lavishing praise on the 5th District’s progressive mini-me(ssiah).

Of the arrayed minions, many were queried on the concept of “socialism.” Many enthusiastically agreed that socialism was a system superior to American capitalism.

These are staunch supporters of Tom Perriello:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fdzc6VheIqE

Across town, signs were erected—presumably by right-minded individuals—linking Tom Perriello to socialism and its best known symbol: the hammer and sickle.

These are staunch detractors of Tom Perriello:

In an age of acrimonious political division, it’s rare that proponents and adversaries of a specific candidate can find common theoretical ground.

In this case consensus is clear—and easily reached. Supporters and detractors of Virginia’s 5th District Democrat incumbent agree: Tom Perriello is a socialist.

With embattled Democrats across America actively disassociating themselves from President Obama, Virginia 5th District Congressman Tom Perriello has been “graced” with an unexpected last-minute executive visit intended to resuscitate his faltering campaign.

The hallmark of two-faced Tom’s re-election bid has been proclaimed “independence” from the President and Speaker Nancy Pelosi—particularly from their nationally toxic progressive agenda. In fact, the first radio commercial of this year’s Perriello campaign sought to dispel the “myth” that Perriello votes in “lock step with ‘Obama’ and ‘Pelosi.’”

Even Democrat City Councilor, Kristin Szakos—a stalwart supporter of both Perriello and Obama—recognized the inherent danger in linking Tom Perriello too closely to Barack Obama, as she suddenly displaced a long-standing “Obama” yard sign from her property before posting a “Perriello for Congress” sign in an adjacent location. (N.B. Szakos’s ceramic Obama sign has returned to its place of honor just in time for the President’s visit.)

Now, the President is coming to town in order to help Tom Perriello? And, after all of the effort by Perriello’s people to distance these two birds of a feather?

With a recent Harris poll showing the President’s approval rating hovering at an historic low of 37%, Obama’s eleventh hour sojourn hardly can be welcome news to the boy Congressman and his panicked handlers.

But, how can you say “no” to the President? Well, you can’t.

And that is precisely the problem for Tom Perriello. Contemplative independent voters who may have bought into Perriello’s “autonomy” song and dance now should realize the fallacy of such a claim. Since the President personally has stumped for two-faced Tom, there is no chance that the congressman could ever refuse a request for support (read: a vote) from President Obama.

Despite months of strategic distancing, Congressman Tom Perriello forevermore will be inexorably and intimately linked with and beholden to President Barack Obama. While this Friday’s Presidential soiree will play well to Charlottesville’s progressive, government consumers, it also will drive the final nail into Tom Perriello’s shovel-ready political coffin.

In ten of Virginia’s 11 congressional districts, RPAC has endorsed the incumbent (five Democrats and five Republicans). The endorsees represent a broad swath of the political spectrum, from liberal to conservative and all points in-between.

Conspicuously absent from RPAC’s congressional candidate “A” list is incumbent Congressman Tom Perriello. In fact, Virginia’s 5th District is not even referenced in the RPAC media release.

An inquiry as to the nature of the curious omission yielded the following response from the Virginia Association of Realtors:

In Congressional races, our statewide association gives much deference to local associations of Realtors, and that was the case for associations within the Fifth Congressional District. While both candidates have received Realtor support separately, Congressman Perriello for his primary race, and Senator Hurt for General Assembly races, there was not a clear consensus for the General Election. Accordingly, our RPAC (Realtors Political Action Committee) Trustees declined to forward a recommendation for that race.

I hope this information is helpful to you.

Best regards,

Jay DeBoer • Vice President of Law and Policy
Virginia Association of REALTORS®

Note that in every other Virginia Congressional District, local Realtor Associations had no problem obtaining consensus: incumbents were supported, period. Unanimous backing of incumbents was the case in RPAC’s 2008 endorsements, as well.

On what basis were these endorsements made?

According to RPAC, on one consideration: the candidates’ voting record on real estate and property issues.

So, what does it say about Democrat Congressman Tom Perriello that local Realtor Associations would not support his bid for reelection while corresponding regional groups supported every other incumbent Virginia Representative?

Everything you need to know. Tom Perriello, for all of his artful pandering and feline duplicity, was unable to hoodwink the astute Realtors of Virginia’s 5th District.

The Schilling Show endorses the collective 5th District Realtor Associations for standing up and refusing to finance a fraud.

See the print version of RPAC’s selective endorsement release:

JATP Responds to Jeffrey Clark (I, VA05)

Charlottesville, VA – October 22, 2010

I thank Mr. Clark for issuing a response to my recent statement regarding his candidacy in the Virginia Fifth District congressional race. In his reply, Mr. Clark verified my truthful account of his unconditional pledge to me and the Jefferson Area Tea Party (JATP) by confirming, ”I did inform Mrs. Thorpe that it was not my intention to be only a spoiler and if that were the case I would drop out.”

As the Chair of the Jefferson Area Tea Party (JATP), it is my privilege to act as a representative for the many patriots who comprise this organization.

Overwhelmingly, they are justifiably livid at Mr. Clark for reneging on his promise to drop out of the race if and when he deemed he had no chance of winning and could only be a spoiler. Since the release of our recent statements, Mr. Clark has told me he has no expectation of winning the election, and that he is solely focused now on pursuing a resolution to the side issue of inclusion in congressional debates with both State Senator Robert Hurt and Congressman Tom Perriello.

Pursuant to his goal of inclusion, Mr. Clark said in his recent statement, ”If I were to drop from the race now, it would end the case currently being handled by the Rutherford Institute and would without question allow this despicable practice to continue.” Regardless of the perceived or actual merit of his quest, the JATP contends it alone does not ethically release him from his promise to us.

In a July 20 press release, the JATP upheld the best interest of voters by calling for the inclusion of all three candidates in debates. Also in the interest of voters, I attempted to organize a compromise format round-robin debate in September. Mr. Clark told me at that time he approached State Senator Hurt privately with the identical offer he extended in his recent statement; if, in exchange for inclusion in one televised debate, he did not poll at 25% approval or higher, he would drop out of the race. The offer was declined and the proposed debate was dropped.

In addition to our efforts, The Rutherford Institute announced on September 22 its intention to mount a legal challenge on Mr. Clark’s behalf. During the four weeks following that announcement, there was no attorney working on the case. In response to the likelihood an attorney could still be found, Rutherford Institute spokeswoman Nisha Mohammed was quoted in an October 15 article in The Daily Progress as saying; “We’re still looking, but it looks doubtful at this point due to attorney availability.”

Is it not reasonable for the JATP to doubt that without an attorney working the case up until now, at present, or likely to do so in the next eleven days, that it can expect a dramatically positive impact to the status of Mr. Clark’s candidacy in the waning days to the election? The JATP believes that a substantial effort has been made on Mr. Clark’s behalf to help him gain entry into the debates. Since State Senator Hurt shows no sign of acquiescence, we think it is reasonable to presume now that Mr. Clark’s condition for dropping out of the race will not be satisfied.

With three Hurt-Perriello debates concluded, his poling numbers consistently in low single digits, and only eleven days left until the election, we have assessed for ourselves that Mr. Clark’s candidacy has become that of the spoiler candidate he insisted would be unacceptable to him. While it is too late for Mr. Clark to remove his name from the ballot, we suggest that if he chooses to keep his promise by effectively dropping out of the race, he could do so by holding a televised press conference to announce his intention. We know citizens will be watching for his action or inaction with great interest.

The JATP cannot force Mr. Clark to bow out of the race, but we strongly appeal to him to re-examine his status and voluntarily honor his pledge. During his campaign, he rightly called on Americans to demand honesty and accountability from candidates and elected officials, not allowing them to say one thing then do another. We heard him and agreed with his message, and now call on him as a fellow tea party participant to resist hypocrisy and lead by example.

Carole Thorpe
JATP Chairman

Exclusive to The Schilling Show Blog and News, following is advance copy of an ad placed by local physicians and health care professionals, to appear in this weekend’s Daily Progress:

WARNING: Obamacare may be detrimental to your health!

This 2,562 page Bill is not what it appears to be. Before you vote on Nov. 2, you should know what to expect from Obamacare:

20 million children destined to lose individual insurance policies due to federal mandates on pre-existing conditions . . .

A shortage of doctors and services for the elderly and the disabled . . .

Obamacare will cut $575 billion from Medicare and Medicare Advantage over 10 years. Medicare reimbursements to hospitals that serve low-income patients will be reduced by $22 billion; payments for home care will be slashed by $40 billion, and inpatient and outpatient hospital services cut by $157 billion.

Health care rationing in the form of long waiting lists for specialist doctors, surgery, treatments, and critical diagnostic testing . . .

In Massachusetts’ Obamacare-style health plan passed in 2006, droves of doctors have retired or left the state. One clinic in western Massachusetts had a waiting list of 1,600 patients.

Prominent Canadians on their country’s health care waiting lists, such as the premier of Newfoundland, Danny Williams, and Belinda Stronach, former MP who opposed privatization in Canada, have traveled to the U.S. for health care – along with thousands of others.

Overcrowded hospitals . . .

In one year, 4,000 women in the U.K. had babies in hospital hallways, bathrooms and elevators – not in maternity wards. By 2019, Medicaid will serve 16 million more people in the U.S., and many of these will wind up in emergency rooms for non-emergency visits due to a shortage of doctors accepting Medicaid.

Higher death rates from cancer, and other serious but treatable diseases . . .

The British health care system assigns a numerical value to the pro- jected quality of a patient’s life in order to determine if treatment is economical. Obamacare has such an agency in place – the Patient- Centered-Outcome Research Institute; it is ready to go, with the mere stroke of a pen.

Recently a federal panel ruled – based on a calculation of deaths per number of mammograms – that these tests were now necessary only for women between the ages of 50 and 75, and only every other year.

A decline in the development of life-saving technologies . . .

The pharmaceutical industry will be spending $2.8 billion yearly on new taxes that would otherwise be spent on developing new drugs. Firms that develop medical devices such as insulin pumps and pacemakers will be spending $2 billion a year on taxes – which is $2 billion less than will be spent on developing new medical technologies.

An eventual government takeover of our entire health care system . . .

Large insurers will be forced to raise premiums substantially to comply with government mandates under the new law. Smaller insurance companies will be driven out of business due to federally mandated “minimum medical loss ratios.”

Large corporations will find it more economical to pay federal fines than to sponsor employee health plans – the largest source of health insurance for Americans. An estimated 35 to 43 million Americans will lose their employee health benefits and move into government programs.

The new Bill (Section 1334, pages 97-100) will create two new government insurance programs that will compete with private insurance companies. Over time, the government’s programs – funded by taxpayers – will drive private insurers out of business.

On March 24, 2007, Obama told the SEIU Healthcare Forum: “… I don’t think we will be able to eliminate employer coverage immediately. There’s going to be potentially some transition process. I can envision a decade out or 15 years out or 20 years out…”

A national debt equal to our entire GDP in five years — and half of that debt owed to foreign governments . . .

Consider: $38 trillion currently in unfunded obligations to Medicare. Add 16 million more Medicaid recipients. Add to that 35 million moving from employer-sponsored plans to government plans. Add 68 grant programs, 47 bureaucratic entities, 29 pilot programs, six regulatory systems, six compliance standards and two new entitlements.

Is this the legacy you want to leave your children and grandchildren?

Vote to STOP the ravages of Obamacare Vote for Robert Hurt on Nov. 2!

This ad is paid for by a coalition of local physicians and health care professionals committed to preserving the right of patients to choose their own health care.

Guest editorial: Doctors are NOT public servants, Tom Perriello
by Steve Peters

www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybZiO3inrE0

Just days before Democrat Congressman Tom Perriello voted YES on the Obama Medical Takeover Bill, a busload of 50 Jefferson Area Tea Party Patriots sat down with Tom to plead for his NO vote on this dangerous bill that almost nobody, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi, had read.

Retired Dr. Jim Masloff warned Tom in the meeting that although changes in America’s medical system area were necessary, passing this bill was like performing a craniotomy to cure a headache!

In the course of the meeting, Congressman Perriello—the son of a doctor— astonishingly stated that he grew up considering doctors as “public servants!”

The Communistic concept of public indentureship and mass servitude of health care professionals is pervasive throughout the 2000+-page bill Democrats passed late one Sunday night, without a single Republican vote!

Doctors’ lives and the operational parameters of their profession are going to change dramatically, and for the worse, because of Tom Perriello’s arrogant, “I know better than you” vote. His allegiance is not to “we the people,” but to his beloved Democrat party.

Commentator Michael Barone says, ”The rule seems to be that casting a decisive vote for Obamacare tends to be a career-ender.” Let’s hope that Tom Perriello’s decisive vote in favor of the Marxist health care takeover permanently ends his political career.

You have the ability to assist in retiring Tom Perriello from his 5th District Congressional seat by circulating this video among doctors, health care professionals, and health care consumers—and by making contributions to Republican Robert Hurt’s campaign.

Democrats have declared war on doctors (along with all other “producers” in America); it is time for concerned citizens to begin fighting back, and fiercely. The alternative is simply unfathomable.
