TPUSA Western Albemarle High School Family Foundation The Schilling Show

After attempting to shut down a Western Albemarle High School (WAHS) Turning Point USA (TPUSA) meeting featuring Victoria Cobb of the Family Foundation, Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) has relented.

Cobb’s presentation, entitled “Two Genders, One Truth” rattled the ACPS overlords, as that perspective conflicts with their institutional “multi-gender” worldview.

Faced with serious legal consequences from the Founding Freedoms Law Center over viewpoint discrimination, ACPS dropped their opposition, as memorialized in an email from WAHS principal Jennifer Sublette, obtained by The Schilling Show:

Good afternoon, [Xxxxxx]

I am out of the building today, but I wanted to reach out to you before tomorrow.

After careful consideration, you may move forward with your club meeting and hosting of Mrs. Cobb, your guest speaker. I appreciate that you and fellow club leaders have worked to manage guest speakers and wrap up meetings before the start of the next instructional block after lunch. If you would like to meet to discuss logistics for how to do that with this meeting, I am happy to do so when I am back tomorrow.

Thank you and please let me know how you wish to proceed and what you need from me.

Hopefully, ACPS Superintendent Matt Haas EdD has learned a lesson in his Division’s audacious attempt to abridge the Bill of Rights—but don’t hold your breath.

“The TPUSA club at WAHS is having a speaker come to their club meeting during lunch to speak about ‘Two Genders, One Truth.’ As a school board member and proud parent of a trans student, I am beyond livid. In my opinion this is not a matter of free speech, it’s hate speech and has no place in our schools. If the KKK wanted a speaker during lunch, would we allow that as well? Shame on ACPS.”

Should the rhetoric equating TPUSA with the KKK get a pass? In my opinion this is exactly the kind of flagrant, extreme rhetoric we have seen that motivates mentally suseptible individuals to take extreme actions.
