Feda Morton, of Fluvanna County, has thrown her hat into the ever expanding ring of GOP candidates vying to topple one-term incumbent Tom Perriello in the 2010 election for Virginia’s 5th Congressional District.

Morton first announced her intentions on the Friday, August 7th edition of The Schilling Show.

Greene County resident, Roger Schweikert, has formed a campaign committee with intentions of seeking the same seat. He is expected to formally announce his campaign in the next few days.

These two candidates bring the total number of known or expected GOP challengers to nearly 20. Party sources confirm that the pool may rise to as many as 25.

  1. Rob, can you keep a record of all these GOP candidates that are announcing
for the VA. 5th Congressional District for your blog audience? From a public
service standpoint, this is an ideal seat for the correct-type of Republican
in a very conservative district and state. REMINDER to candidates for this
seat: PLEASE ADVERTISE ON “THE SCHILLING SHOW” and “THE SCHILLING SHOW BLOG”.
You will be reaching the voting base of the Republican Party in central
Virginia and beyond. The aforementioned requests are unsolicited.
