By a 3-2 margin, the Greene County School Board voted Wednesday to make “masks” optional for the coming school year.

The motion, presented by Jason Tooley (At-Large), was supported also by Todd Sansom (Monroe) and Jason Collier (Stanardsville).

Board members Sharon Mack (Ruckersville) and Leah Paladino (Midway) opposed.

The bold move for “face freedom” in Greene County may be short-lived; however, as science-denying Democrat Governor Ralph Northam on Thursday threatened legal action against pro-mask-choice school divisions in the Commonwealth.
