Gary O'Connell leaving Albemarle County Service Authority The Schilling Show

Gary O’Connell, executive director of the Albemarle County Service Authority (ACSA) is leaving the building. Multiple job-seeking sites are advertising O’Connell’s position as open, and applicants are being sought.

Perhaps better known as Charlottesville’s longtime City Manager, O’Connell has milked that city for an estimated $145,000 per year since he “retired” in 2010.

Details of O’Connell’s ACSA pension have not been revealed, but likely it will exceed $100,000 annually— bringing his taxpayer supported yearly retirement payments to a quarter of a million dollars.
