TPUSA Western Albemarle High School Family Foundation The Schilling Show

The ongoing fight over Victoria Cobb—president of the Family Foundation—speaking at Western Albemarle High School (WAHS) continues.

Originally scheduled to address the WAHS Turning Point USA (TPUSA) chapter on October 1 with remarks entitled, “Two Genders, One Truth,” Cobb was cancelled by the Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) legal department. This subsequent to social media comments by ACPS at large School Board member, Allison Spillman, who notoriously compared TPUSA to the KKK. ACPS quickly relented upon receipt of a scathing legal response from the Founding Freedoms Law Center, accusing the school division of “viewpoint discrimination.”

Following a contentious ACPS School Board meeting at which speakers attempted to persuade the Board to reverse course and disallow Cobb’s presentation, Cobb eventually was rescheduled to speak at WAHS TPUSA’s November 19th meeting.

Today, a last-minute injunction attempt was filed by the parent of a “non-binary” WAHS student, in effort to block Cobb from speaking at the school on the proposed topic, on grounds that hosting such a talk would cause “irreparable” harm.

The ACPS attorney argued against the injunction and urged the judge to allow the TPUSA event to go forward as planned.

The judge took the matter under advisement and promised a written ruling prior to Wednesday, noon, the scheduled event time.
