In the midst of multiple lawsuits challenging Charlottesville and Albemarle’s Meadowcreek Parkway, a new development may render the long-simmering project roadkill. At issue is the segmentation strategy, wherein the localities split the road into three distinct projects—Meadowcreek Parkway, McIntire Road Extended, and the 250 Bypass Interchange—purportedly in order to avoid greater federal environmental scrutiny.

In letters obtained by The Schilling Show, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has asked the U.S Army Corps of Engineers to rescind the previously issued permit, and the Corps has complied, leaving the project in limbo.
