After much speculation about his participation in Charlottesville’s January 22, 2009 5th District Tea Parties Republican Candidate Forum, Senator Robert Hurt’s campaign manager, Sean Harrison, has confirmed to forum organizers that the candidate will not attend tomorrow night’s event.

Tea Party officials were hopeful that despite his General Assembly obligations, Hurt would participate along with the other six confirmed GOP hopefuls: Ken Boyd, Ron Ferrin, Mike McPadden, Jim McKelvey, Feda Morton and Laurence Verga.

Two additional 5th District Tea Party forums are scheduled: Friday, February 27 in Lynchburg; and Saturday, March 20 in Danville. Hurt’s intention to appear at either of those events is not established.
