A female Albemarle High School (AHS) teacher was seriously injured by a student there on Friday, as later conveyed in an email from AHS Principal, Darah Bonham.
Details are thin, but Bonham’s missive is clear that the student deliberately struck the teacher and that the teacher required “medical treatment.”
In the shadow of this violent act, another AHS transgression occurred, wherein a student inappropriately “touched” a staff-member’s face.
These acts continue a pattern of ongoing violence and mayhem in Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS).
Sadly, the perennial ACPS atmosphere of lawlessness prevails, fostered in great part by the feckless “leadership” of Superintendent Matt Haas and his equally pusillanimous School Board—both of whom have conspired to cede prescriptive discipline in favor of fleeting adulation.

Subject: Message from the principal at AHSDear AHS Students and Families,
I wanted to make you aware of a situation that took place this morning at AHS. A teacher was redirecting a student who was in the hallway outside of the teacher’s classroom. The student was not cooperating and when the teacher approached to identify the student, the student punched her.
Our admin and security teams were called and immediately arrived to intervene and take the student to the office. The teacher was tended to by our school nurse and received medical treatment.
The conduct of the student was a severe violation of our school rules and policies. Law enforcement were contacted and were present to file a police report on the incident. The student, who is a minor, will face both school and criminal consequences due to these actions.
In addition to this incident, we had another situation today where a student inappropriately touched a staff member in the face. I want to assure you that we take the safety and security of our students and staff seriously, and such incidents will not be tolerated in our school.

Do yourself a favor and hang out when AHS closes on a weekday and you will be shocked. As a graduate in the early 2000s, it was already starting to get dangerous, but now it’s on another level. The demographics resemble the LA Unified School district and are reflected by the student body and the employees. We had 4 hispanic students that arrived in the late 90s and they were a novelty. Now the school is majority minority and the white students are the only ones meekly still wearing masks and trying to not be noticed. And now we have racial violence between the blacks and hispanics that’s nonstop. If you have children and means, do not force them into this third world chaotic sh1thole. Homeschool or find a non-woke private school. It’s amazing that such an affluent community has changed so radically in just 20 years.

Yes, it actually IS a race issue. The Black and Hispanic student are the Problem. They come from single Mom homes where the only male figures swing by to smoke a blunt, go behind closed doors with Mama and then leave. They are taught that they are entitled, have no aspersions to get a job, think they will be the next great rapper and to get laid. There is no hope for the Black youth. They are put in college because of lack of diversity, put in jobs because of lack of diversity yet 9⃣ of them work for it. It’s time the school board and police step up and start putting these people in jail for a long time, not just a slap on the wrist.

Do you have school aged children? Did you go to public schools in Cville or Albemarle in the last 30 years? Unless you’re at western, Public schools are an absolute nightmare for white kids. Pretending otherwise invalidates any opinion you’ve ever had. I pay 6K a year in property taxes to fund a illegal alien indoctrination center for the illegals, and a temporary holding zone for the blacks until they’re eligible for jail.
and btw Bridgette, had you had children or attended public schools in any city with a sizable black population in since desegregation, you would be fully aware that ALL VIOLENT CRIME IN SCHOOLS are perpetrated by the (small b) black population. What is a sizable population where the blacks get full control? anything above 5% and everyone else is afraid. Whites, asians, jews, and even Hispanics just keep their heads down and hope they are not the target of the insanely disproportionate black on everything else crime.

I have little sympathy for teachers. They overwhelmingly support leftist candidates, send their AFT/NEA dues payments to Dem candidates, and preach the moral equivalence & twisted logic that has brought us to this point. As for race, go to any state’s violent crime rate; take out the urban areas, and you will see the rate plummet. It is race now; but that is simply because of the longitudinal dysfunction Democrats have built into the black community since LBJ. Dems have always been the party of racism and still are.
